UNITAR - United Nations Institute for Training and Research
UNITAR: Your Global Partners in Training and Research

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a principal training arm of the UN, working in every world region. UNITAR was established in 1963 and seeks to empower individuals, governments, and organizations through knowledge and learning to effectively overcome contemporary global challenges.

Over the years, UNITAR has acquired unique expertise and experience in designing/delivering a variety of training activities. They have become a leader in providing customized and creative learning solutions to institutions and individuals from both public and private sectors.

Depending on the type of event, training activities are organized in-country or through e-learning. They offer different types of training and courses, some of which are open to the public and others are limited to specific target audiences such as diplomats or civil servants. UNITAR also offers a number of free online courses that can be taken anywhere in the world. UNITAR’s mission is to develop capacities to enhance global decision-making and to support country-level action for shaping a better future (UNITAR, 2020).
