UNDP - United Nations Development Program

Global Sustainable Development in Action…

This post features and salutes the essential work of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). UNDP is UN’s global development network promoting technical and investment cooperation among nations advocating for change; and connecting countries (and people) to knowledge, experience, and resources to assist in building a better life.

UNDP works in more than 170 countries helping to eradicate poverty, reducing inequalities and exclusion, and building resilience so countries can sustain progress in meeting their development goals. As UN’s premier development agency, UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

UNDP also focuses on addressing the social, economic and environmental determinants of health, recognizing that health is a driver and outcome of development – including helping governments to implement large-scale health programs for equitable health service delivery with capacity-building and policy engagement. UNDP’s health and development engagement makes a powerful contribution to countries’ commitment to “leave no one behind.” Their expertise cuts across diverse development issues and provides valuable assets combined with a long legacy of trust (UNDP, 2020).
