United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO): Your Global Partners in Defeating Hunger and Achieving Food Security…

This post features and amplifies the incredible work of the UN FAO. FAO is a specialized agency leading international efforts to defeat hunger. Their goal is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives.

FAO currently partners with over 194 member states and works in over 130 countries worldwide; believing that everyone can play a part in ending hunger.
The UN system, also known unofficially as the ‘UN family’, is made up of the UN itself and a series of Programs, Funds and Specialized Agencies, all with their own leadership and budget. Specialized Agencies within the UN, like the FAO, are independent international organizations funded by both voluntary and assessed contributions (FAO, 2020).
