Christina Cushen

Biography

I am an emerging legal professional with a passion for advocating on gender equality, social justice and other human rights issues. I am an Australian based human rights and social justice advocate

As someone who is committed to social justice I have had a number of leadership and advocacy positions that have given me the ability to fulfil this passion of mine. Four years ago I was privileged to have the opportunity to be part of the Youth Series Activist group for Plan International to advocate for gender justice for women. I have also been given the opportunity by the Victorian Multicultural Commission to be part of the Victorian Multicultural Network for 2 years, which enabled me to work with a group of diverse people in a hope of making a difference to marginalised cultural groups.

A few years ago I was given the opportunity to be a Youth Expert at the Girls Human Rights Hub, which enabled me to hone my advocacy skills as I advocated for women and girls rights. In August last year, I was the Youth Diplomatic Society’s regional correspondent for Australia and the Pacific, and in February 2026, I became the Field Correspondent at Young Diplomatic Society for Gender Equality.
