UNHR - United Nations Human Rights
Introducing UN Human Rights…

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights) is the leading UN entity on human rights. They represent the world’s commitment to the promotion and protection of the full range of human rights and freedoms set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (note graphic).

As the principal UN office mandated to promote and protect human rights for all, UN Human Rights assists Governments in fulfilling their human rights obligations; acts as the principal focal point of human rights research, education, public information, and advocacy activities; and works with a wide range of partners in order to widen the constituency for human rights worldwide.

Since Governments have primary responsibility to protect human rights, UN Human Rights provides assistance to Governments so they can implement the international human rights standards they’ve committed to. Assistance includes, but is not limited to, expertise and technical training in the areas of administration of justice, legislative reform, and electoral processes (UN Human Rights, 2021).
